Angel singing and vibraphone

Baryl is in an empathetic, dynamic and universal way present in their time. They play fearlessly, playfully and modernly, exploring the contrast between tight compositions and completely free collective improvisations.

Since their debut in 2021, the baryls have made their mark on the Danish jazz scene.

They won the “Jazz Competition” in spring 2022 and have played sold-out concerts during Vinterjazz 2023. Politiken wrote: “In not many years, baryls may end up becoming one of the country’s most sought-after groups. At least they’re laying the foundation for something really big.” Most recently, they have released the album “What the hell is going on?” where, among other things. Information writes: “Although the band name connotes mischief, BARYL only plays rogue tracks of the most enjoyable kind. The music is subtle and ambitious without being silly or vain.”

The world is constantly changing and evolving, and Baryl has made a decision to embrace just that, in 2024 and beyond, with Baryl emerging in a new format, namely the quintet. From January 2024, we will experience Baryl as a quintet with 2 saxophones, both of whom have long played with the band, and especially for this reason, it is only the natural next step for the band.

BARYL occupies the Danish jazz scenes, twisting jazz, its past and prejudices.

We are excited to open the doors to this eccentric live concert and hope to see the audience leave inspired and always resonating over the world we live in….
